The Process
How it works, what’s included, and what to expect
The Web Design Process
A Walk Through Production
By following an outlined process, each web design project is set up to go smoothly and meet expected deadlines. With research and planning implemented on the front end of the project, your website design will be more informed and meet your desired expectations. By following an outline for development and launch, your project won’t miss crucial steps.
The following is an outline of our website design process.
01 | Discovery
Each project begins with the discovery of identifying measurable key outcomes, or goals of your business’s website. This includes target audience, your message, and what you want your website to achieve.
02 | Project Scope
Your project is planned in detail to develop a timeline of delivery. Sitemaps, navigation, and call to actions are examples of what is included at this stage in order to prevent unexpected delays and assure a timely completion.
03 | Wireframe & SEO
Overall navigation is structured through the sitemap and wireframes of all key pages. Keyword research and SEO focus are planned ahead, to guide all content that is needed for your new site.
04 | Visual Design
Visual style is determined by the overall visual brand of your business. Your brand plays a key role in this part of the process. My job is to visually convey perceptual ideas of your brand within the design.
05 | Site Development
With designs approved, it’s time to fill in the pages with your content, image selections, videos, galleries, slideshows, podcasts, and other media that will appear on your site.
06 | Testing & QA
Testing of the site is critical. Upload speed test, grammar checks, device and browser tests, functionality tests, and final changes and corrections will all be guaranteed and approved before launch.
07 | Launch
The site is tested, reviewed, and launched. Adapting to the new site takes time, and immediate changes and edits for final adjustments are inevitable. Time to prepare for continued content to keep it thriving!
08 | Site Maintenance
Websites need constant care and maintenance to stay relevant and current to your customers and to Google. Adding updated content, making changes, and fixing broken links, are all included in the maintenance of your site.
09 | Site Training
Having the know-how to add or remove your own content, set the on-page SEO, make minor fixes when needed arms you with the power to keep your site up to date.

Contact me for any questions or needs you may have.
How much time will it take to complete my project?
The duration of each project is carefully lined out in the Project Scope of my process. It can range from 2 weeks (Starter Kit Package) to 3 months, depending on how many pages and content is needed.
Will you be adding SEO to my site?
Yes. I use Yoast SEO on all websites I design, as well as SEO Best Practices. Your content will be optimized to ensure your website shows up when consumers search for the products and services you offer. If you review the Website Process (on this page), you will see I include an SEO keyword research and optimization phase in the process.
What if I’m unhappy with the initial design?
You are only expected to give final approval on what you love. You will have the opportunity in the design process to review and request changes. You will be able to participate in as much art direction as you like. After all, I am designing a website that reflects you and your business. Let’s make it right before moving forward.
Who will the owner be when my site is completed?
You will own your website and all assets 100% at completion of your website project. It is my personal policy to make sure all clients have their hosting set up, own their domain, and have all logins and passwords to everything they have paid for, including their new website.
